The German based automaker BMW has recently released a new video in which the 3-Series Touring is being explained.
According to the car manufacturer, the first BMW 3-Series Touring has appeared back in mid-1980s with an idea of Max Reisbock, a company’s engineer. Reisbock wanted to take his family on vacation but the 3-Series was too small to store the luggage. He then wanted to create a car in which the whole family, with their belongings, would fit, so the Touring was born. The first BMW 3-Series Touring has been created out of a crashed 3-Series sedan. He proposed the idea to BMW and the model was born.
Now, almost 30 years later, we have the new BMW 3-Sereies Touring. The model is 97 mm longer than the sedan and its wheelbase is 50 mm longer compared to the same F30. The rear window can be opened separately for an easier access to the trunk. The new generation of the BMW 3-Series Touring has been officially unveiled exactly one year ago, back in May 2012.
