The new generation of the Renault Clio RS has been recently taken on a drag race against the old version, and what came out can be seen in the video posted below.
The 2014 Renault Clio RS is truly a new car, starting with its engine and ending with its options list and to prove that downsizing and turbocharging is the key, instead of old and larger naturally aspired engines, a brand new Clio RS has been recently placed against an Clio RS from the previous generation. What came out is pretty obvious, but you will probably never guess the distance between the two in a quarter mile drag race.
As a quick reminder, the new Renault Clio RS 200 EDC is powered by a 1.6 liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine, replacing the old 2.0 liter naturally aspirated, which is producing a total output of 197 HP (200 PS) and 240 Nm of torque (177 lb-ft). The unit is mated to the dual clutch six-speed transmission with paddle shifters. Fuel consumption stands at 6.3 liters / 100 km (37.3 mpg US). Prices for the new Renault Clio RS 200 EDC have been set at 24,990 euros in France. You can check out the new Clio RS drag racing the old Clio RS below.
