The brand new Volkswagen Golf R has been recently spotted testing on the famous German track, the Nurburgring.
After being spied a few times over these past few months, the new generation of the Volkswagen Golf R is being placed into the spotlights once again, this time with the help of a spy video. The footage posted below is showing the new Golf R in action, on the Nurburgring, where the model is currently being tested and tweaked in order to become a success once it will arrive at dealerships, probably by the end of the year.
The new VW Golf R looks more aggressive than the standard model and it’ coming with prominent air intakes, a new front fascia, a new rear bumper, a tailgate mounted spoiler and a four-tailpipe exhaust system, along with others. The model is also getting a bespoke ESC and a limited slip differential. Power is expected to come from a 2.0 liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, which will produce at least 286 HP (213 kW) and 379 Nm of torque (280 lb-ft). The unit will be mated to a dual-clutch transmission which will send power to the Haldex all-wheel drive system. The new Golf R will probably accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in approximately 5 seconds.
