There have been many stories about the Russian winter over the centuries, some true and some not, but we do know the fierce season tends to last longer in the land of Vodka and… tanks.
Since people there are used to do elongated battles with the snow they have already adopted the theme – if you can’t conquer, join – so we have numerous examples of steering wheel gurus that handle the fierce conditions in a way other mortals would have deserted long before. Case in point: Russian drifter Sergey Kabargin, who has decided to use the capricious weather to his advantage – he invited one of his drifter friends to a spectacular winter battle into the woods, with their choice machines being more than ready to handle the call.
This “forest” is an area of Karelia, where the average temperature for March is at a frosty 23 degrees Fahrenheit (-5 degrees Celsius). The playmates: a C6 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 and a fourth-generation Toyota Supra. The Corvette is pretty “stock” but the monster Supra instead is pretty barren without most of its body panels. By the way, take a look at the video below if you want to see how snow and ice can be as treacherous as… well, winter. By the way, the good news is this in only the first installment in a series of drifts, so expect more shenanigans like this to come forth.
