A quick response and a lot of luck have helped this guy avoid losing his life, killing the passenger and ruining an exotic supercar.
Our Car Crashes category was close to adding yet another ruined exotic vehicle, in the shape of this Ferrari F430. The clip posted below is showing the driver nearly avoiding an old generation Mercedes-Benz A-Class from rear ending and another Mercedes vehicle coming from the opposite way in less than 2 seconds. The passenger of the Italian supercar doesn’t seem to realize how close he was to being taken to hospital but the driver is quite aware that he has nearly escaped this dangerous situation.
The supercar seen in the clip is a Ferrari F430 which is the predecessor of the 458. The model has been in production between 2004 and 2009 and it was designed, of course, by Pininfarina. The vehicle was offered in two body styles, a two-door coupe (F430) or a two-door roadster (F430 Spider) and both of them were coming with the rear mid-engine and rear-wheel drive layout. Power was being provided by a 4.3 liter naturally aspirated V8 engine, which was capable of putting down a total output of 491 HP (366 kW) and a peak torque of 465 Nm (343 lb-ft). The unit was connected to a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed electrohydraulic manual transmission, allowing the supercar to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4 seconds and a top speed of 315 km/h (196 mph).
