The Chrysler brand has a new voice for the summer. It’s the famous Peter Dinklage from the popular Game of Thrones TV show joining the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV for a seasonal advertising partnership.
Dinklage, who plays Tyrion Lannister on the HBO series, narrates 5 ads for Chrysler, 30 seconds each, to promote the Italian-American manufacturer’s midsize 200 and large 300 sedans. What’s out of the ordinary for these clips is that Dinklage uses to describe the cars’ features literary works and passages from Ralph Waldo Emerson, Jack Kerouac, Herman Melville, Marcel Proust and William Wordsworth, all talented and famous writers in the literary history.
Jack Kerouac, American novelist and poet, is quoted by Dinklage in the “Dramatic MPG” clip from his “On the Road” novel. “What is that feeling when you’re driving away from people and they recede on the plain till you see their specks dispersing? It’s the too-huge world vaulting us, and it’s good-bye. But we lean forward to the next crazy venture beneath the skies,” is only a sample of the uncommon association between cars and poetry, used in Chrysler’s video.
The ads will air this summer to promote the brand’s clearance event. Chrysler refused to give out information on the price of the new summer ad campaign. Dinklage has previously narrated ads for Chrysler, including the Chrysler 300 “Drive Proud” campaign, which celebrates Americans who have earned their success, such as entrepreneurs, small business owner, self-employed contractors, designers and artists. The 60-second spot named “The Kings & Queens of America” made its debut back in April. Check out below the Chrysler clips with Peter Dinklage’s famous voice:
