The German automaker has decided to already release the first three promotional videos highlighting the prowess of their latest introduction – the sporty coupe designed to tackle its longstanding rival, the BMW M4.
Mercedes fans will get to experience the Mercedes-AMG C Coupe in its two iterations in March next year, which is a long way from now, but to keep interest up the company is already showing off its capabilities, since they call it the “sportiest C-Class ever”. The flagship C 63 S Coupe will tackle the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in a rather outstanding 3.9 seconds – which is actually just 0.2 seconds faster than its Bavarian archrival. Also, if you fancy winning the Autobahn race, the 1,725 kg (90% tank, without driver & luggage) coupe that is traditionally limited to “just” 155 mph (250 km/h) can receive the AMG Driver’s Package update from the long list of optional features. Thus, the performance model will cap its top speed at 180 mph (290 km/h), which is entering supercar territory.
The S version is differentiated from the “standard” C63 Coupe through the power upgrade – from 476 PS and 650 Nm to 510 PS and 700 Nm. Other modifications include the dynamic engine mounts and an even more dynamic wheel and tire combo: 255/35 R19 (front) and 285/30 R19 (rear) with 5-twin-spoke lightweight alloys. The C63 Coupe makes due with 18 inch alloys and a 10-spoke design for the wheels. Naturally, the brethrens will be among the star attractions at this year’s edition of the Frankfurt motor show.
