Villa d’Este: BMW 328 Hommage firs images image

This is the BMW 328 Hommage, a concept car which made its debut at the 2011 Villa d’Este Concours.

Complete with bonnet straps, round headlights, slotted wheels and a split windscreen, the 328 Hommage celebrates the 75th birthday of the original 328, built between 1936 and 1940.

“The BMW 328 is considered the most successful and best-looking sports car of the 1930s,” says BMW in the press release introducing its own 75th anniversary homage to the car.

Right up to the present day, the 328 Touring Coupe still holds the record for the highest average speed on the Mille Miglia circuit.

Fine leather, matt and high-gloss black polished alu-minium as well as CFRP make up the interior. The vertically positioned double kidney grille imitates the slim, vertical kidney design of the early BMW models.
