A red finished McLaren P1 has been the subject of a photo shoot recently and we have to admit that these are some pretty spectacular images.
There may have been almost two years since McLaren has officially pulled the wraps off the P1 but the hypercar continues to fascinate most people, us included, so whenever something worth mentioning is made with it, we simply have to share. The example posted below, finished in an appealing Volcano Red by MSO, has been the subject of a photo shoot recently and we may have found your future background images. According to our source, the hypercar has received a 24-karat gold plated exhaust shield, which is probably its highlight.
McLaren has officially introduced the P1, in its final production form, back in 2013, during the Geneva Motor Show. The hypercar is being produced in just 375 units and all of them are offered with the same two-door coupe body style and the rear mid-engine and rear-wheel drive layout. Power is coming from a modified 3.8L twin turbo petrol engine, with 727 HP and 719 Nm of torque, along with an electric motor, developed in-house, generating 176 HP and 260 Nm. The total output produced by the assembly stands at an impressive 903 HP and 978 Nm of torque, sent to the wheels through a seven-speed dual clutch transmission. The vehicle needs just 2.8 seconds to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) from a standstill and it can go up to 350 km/h (217 mph), which is its electronically limited top speed.
