Volkswagen has recently announced its plans to introduce the Golf R400 and the GTI Roadster at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show.
The Volkswagen Golf R400 is getting closer and closer to receiving a production version and this will make another step into this direction at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show. The model in question, which has been introduced at the Beijing Motor Show back in April, has a 2.0 liter four-cylinder gasoline burner under its hood, with a tweaked turbocharger and several other upgrades, allowing it to produce an extra 100 HP (73 k)W and 70 Nm (51 lb-ft).
The total output now stands at 400 HP (294 kW) and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of torque, sent to the 4MOTION AWD system through a 6-speed DSG transmission. The 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) sprint takes 3.9 seconds and top speed stands at 280 km/h (174 mph). Next in the lineup comes the GTI Roadster, which was shown at first at Worthersee. This packs a 3.0 liter twin turbo V6 engine under its hood, with 503 HP (369 kW) and 559 Nm (413 lb-ft) of torque, sent to the 4MOTION AWD system through a 7-speed DSG. The 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) sprint is made in 3.6 seconds and top seed is 309 km/h (192 mph).
