The German based automaker Volkswagen is planning to present the new Beetle Cabrio at the Los Angeles Auto Show this autumn.
Even if there is no official word on this subject just yet, rumors are saying that the upcoming Volkswagen Beetle Cabrio will be launched in three versions and after the vehicle should have hit the Geneva Motor Show, the New York Auto Show or the Beijing Motor Show this year, the model is once again placed into the spotlights, with the guys at blog.carandriver.com announcing its possible debut this autumn, at the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show.
The all-new Volkswagen Beetle Cabrio should hit the market in three versions, inspired by designs from the ’50s, ‘60s and ‘70s, which will also become the vehicles’ names (Fifties, Sixties and Seventies). The Volkswagen Beetle Cabrio is expected to come with the same powertrain options as its solid roof sister, which means that the model will be powered by the 2.5 liter 170 HP engine, by the 2.0 liter TFSI 200 HP engine and by the 2.0 liter TDI 138 HP and 320 Nm of torque unit, mated to a six-speed manual or a dual-clutch transmission. More details on the model will be announced at its debut in November.
