The first official images with the 2014 Volkswagen Beetle Dune Concept have recently hit the web, ahead of the model’s public debut which will take place in Detroit.
Volkswagen will officially pull the wraps off the 2014 Beetle Dune Concept during the 2014 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS), in Detroit, and right ahead of the model’s public debut, the carmaker has released the first images with the one-off vehicle, placing it into the spotlights once again. The new VW Beetle Dune Concept represents an evolution o the 2000 Beetle Dune Concept, with a similar rugged appearance, flared wheel arches, protective plates, black moldings and much more.
The model in question has also received several yellow accents in the cabin, along with a handle where the glove box should normally be. As far as the engine goes, the 2014 VW Beetle Dune Concept, is getting a four-cylinder 2.0 liter gasoline burner under its hood, which is producing a total output of 210 HP (154 kW). Power is being sent to the wheels through a 6-speed DSG dual clutch automatic transmission. More details on the model will be announced once it will make its appearance in Detroit.
