The German based automaker Volkswagen is planning to introduce an electric concept vehicle at the 2012 Detroit Motor Show, named the Beetle-esque EV.
Besides the hybrid version of the Jetta, which will be officially presented next month at the 2012 Detroit Motor Show, the car manufacturer is also planning to introduce an electric concept vehicle named the Beetle-esque EV at the same North American automotive event. According to motortrend.com, the Beetle-esque is most likely to be based on the “classic” Beetle and to follow the same lines throughout its exterior design but sadly that’s about all the details we’ve got for now on the model.
Volkswagen is keeping the Beetle-esque EV concept a secret until the 2012 Detroit Motor Show but the German based automaker will most likely release all the details we’re interested about at the event. Besides the Beetle-esque EV concept, Volkswagen will also present us with the hybrid version of the Volkswagen Jetta at the same automotive event. The Jetta Hybrid will be powered by a 1.4 liter turbocharged I-4 engine which will be mated to an electric motor and the model will hit the showrooms in November 2012. The Detroit Motor Show will officially open its gates in January, next year.
