The new VW Beetle will come with a muscular 270 HP, battling with the popular Fiat 500.
The German car manufacturer Volkswagen announced the producing of a powerfull version of the New Beetle, called the Beetle R.
Fiat’s 500 rival will pe equipped with the same engine as the Golf R and Scirocco R, 2.0 litre TFSI, which generates 270 HP and 350 Nm torque, but for start it will benefit from the “calmer” 2.0 litre which produces 240 HP.
The new Beetle R could benefit from a diferential electronic XDS transmission or a 4Motion one and, of course, alloy wheels will come in standard.
The sprint time of the new Beetle R will take 7.5 seconds, according to the manufacturer, and fuel consumption will be 7.7 liters / 100 km.
Teenagers and girls who love the adrenaline coming from hot hatchs will be able to get the new Volkswagen Beetle R later this year. The starting price for the modern “bug” will be around 27.100 pounds.
Volkswagen Beetle R could make its official appearance during the Frankfurt Motor Show in September, this year.
