A couple of new renderings with the upcoming Volkswagen CC generation are showing us what the model may look like in a Shooting Brake body style.
Volkswagen may ignore the two Mercedes-Benz Shooting Brakes it is currently offering for the CLA and for the CLS and it may introduce such a variant for the upcoming CC. The model in question hasn’t been confirmed at this time not even in its regular four-door coupe body style, but considering the fact that the company is looking to expand its vehicle lineup, don’t act too surprised if you will see it on the road in a few years. Meanwhile, the two images posted below are nothing more than simple renderings, put together by DesignRM, but they may offer us with a first look into such a model.
The new generation of the Volkswagen CC will be based, of course, on the new Passat, which has been recently crowned Car of the Year. The model in question will be coming with the familiar sloping roofline, with some tweaks made to the suspension system and to a slightly updated cabin, compared to the regular version of the Passat. It is said to be stretched by 4 inches (101 mm) too and rumor has it that it will be offered with a liftgate, meaning a 5-door body style instead of the 4-door. Additional details on the future Volkswagen CC generation are limited at this time and will probably be announced sometimes next year, or even in 2017, when this is expected to hit the market.
