Last year in Europe nearly one out of five newly registered city delivery vans, transporters and pickups came from Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles.
In Germany, it was one out of three. With 301,000 newly registered Caddy, T5, Crafter and Amarok vehicles, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles increased its market share of city delivery vans, transporters and pickups by 18.3 percent, compared to 16.6 percent in 2011.
“We have reinforced our position in the market, a good performance of the whole Commercial Vehicles organisation,” says Bram Schot, Member of the Brand Board of Management for Sales and Marketing at Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles.
Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles once again claimed the top position in its domestic market, Germany, which it has maintained over many years, with 127,200 new registrations of city delivery vans, transporters and pickups. That corresponds to a share of 33.9 percent in this segment (2011: 32.5 percent).
The most successful model in Europe last year was the T5 with 127,600 new vehicle registrations and a 26.9 per centshare. In Germany, the model series also confirmed its top position with 58,700 new vehicle registrations for a 42.5 percent share in this segment.
