Volkswagen is planning to develop a production version of the Cross Up! Concept car which is expected to hit the market sometimes next year.
After the Volkswagen eco Up! has been officially unveiled just a few hours ago, another version of the small car is entering our news, the Cross Up!, which has recently received the green light for production. Just like other models wearing the “Cross” badge on their bodies, the VW Cross Up! will get the same treatment which is made out of a raised ride height and some visual add-ons, along with the black plastic protective cladding around the car’s bottom, including its wheel arches.
The Volkswagen Cross Up! will remain identical in terms of power to the regular version of the model and this means that under its hood we will still find the same 1.0 liter three-cylinder engine, offered in two stages, with 60 HP and with 75 HP. Additional details on the production version of the model are limited for the moment and will be announced soon. The Volkswagen Cross Up! will be based on the Cross Up! Concept which was officially presented to the public last year, during the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show.
