Volkswagen has recently announced its plans to introduce the new e-Golf in Frankfurt, during the automotive event, on the 10th of September.
After telling us about the new Volkswagen e-up!, which will be officially presented to the public during the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, the German based automaker is now placing the larger e-Golf into the spotlights, by announcing its public debut next month, during the same automotive event. The model in question will get the standard LED daytime running lights, climate control, heated windscreen, unique front bumper, new front grille and some other tweaks, which will help it stand out from a crowd.
Power to the new Volkswagen e-Golf is being provided by an electric motor, which is producing a total output of 85 kW and it has a peak torque of 270 Nm. The juice is taken from a 24.2 kWh lithium-ion battery and the model is coming with front-wheel drive. The 0 to 100 km/h sprint in the VW e-Golf takes 10.4 seconds and top speed has been electronically limited to 140 km/h. The total range of the car stands at 190 km.
