Volkswagen has announced the debut of the new e-up! during the Frankfurt Motor Show and its starting price, which has been set at 26,900 EUR.
The most frugal version of the popular Volkswagen Up!, the e-up!, is here, and it will be officially presented to the public next month, during the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. The model in question is powered by an electric motor which is producing a total output of 80 HP (60 kW) and it has a peak torque of 210 Nm. Power is sent to the front wheels and the 0 to 100 km/h sprint takes 12.4 seconds, while the top speed stands at 130 km/h.
The total range of the “green” city car stands at 160 km on a single charge. The model in question will set you back for 26,900 euros, which represents 5,200 EUR more than the larger Renault Zoe. The Volkswagen e-up! will be officially presented to the public on the 10th of September during the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, along with the e-Golf, which is getting an 85 kW electric motor and a top speed limited to 140 km/h. Additional details on the model remain unknown for the moment.
