Volkswagen has recently unveiled the all-electric version of the Up!, named the e-up!, during the Annual Press and Investors Conference.
The Volkswagen Up! is getting ready to receive new variants in its range and after showing us the hybrid, the German based automaker is now placing the small city car into the spotlights once again, this time by revealing the all-electric version. According to the car manufacturer, the new variant of the model is named the Volkswagen e-up! and it will be officially available for its future customers by the end of this year. The “green” Up! will make its public debut later on this year in September.
Power to the Volkswagen e-up! is coming with an electric motor under its hood, which is producing a continuous output of 55 HP (40 kW) and a peak of 82 HP (60 kW), with an instant torque of 210 Nm (155 lb-ft). The model can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 14 seconds before reaching a top speed of 135 km/h (84 mph). The lithium-ion battery pack, with 18.7 kWh, is allowing the model to achieve a range of 150 km (93 miles). The e-up! has been optimized and it’s now coming with an upgraded front fascia, LED daytime running lights, chrome accents in the cabin, bespoke leather, light-grey seat covers with blue stitching and 15-inch alloy wheels.
