Volkswagen has recently announced its plans to introduce the seventh generation of the Golf later on this month, during the 2013 New York Auto Show.
The new generation of the Volkswagen Golf, the Mk7, is already available for order on the Old Continent, but the German based automaker is now getting ready to attack a new market, the United States. According to the car manufacturer, the VW Golf 7 will become available in the U.S. over the following months, after it will make its public debut during the 2013 New York Auto Show, on the 26th of March.
VW says that the Golf 7 will come in three forms to the U.S., turbocharged TSI, diesel TDI and high performance GTI. The three models will be officially presented to the public at Jacob Javits Convention Center. The 2015 VW Golf will go on sale in the United States in early 2014 and the model will be produced in the company’s Puebla factory, in Mexico. The United States version of the Volkswagen Golf will ride on the same MQB platform as its European brother and it will come with a 1.8 ltier TSI, a 2.0 liter TDI and a 2.0 liter turbocharged unit in the GTI. More details on the model will be announced in New York.
