Volkswagen has recently announced the official price list for the new Golf GTI generation in the United Kingdom, which has been set at 25, 895 GBP.
According to the German based automaker, the new generation of the Volkswagen Golf GTI is 195 GBP more expensive than the outgoing version. The model is available in two body styles, three- and five-door, and, for the first time in history, the Golf GTI is offered with a choice of two power outputs. The GTI Performance can be added for an extra 980 GBP, and this will add the limited slip differential (VAQ) and the ventilated front discs.
The Volkswagen Golf 7 GTI is powered by a 2.0 liter turbocharged engine, which is producing a total output of 220 HP (162 kW) in standard and 230 HP in the GTI Performance variant. Both of them have a peak torque of 350 Nm (258 lb-ft), enough to allow them to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 6.5 and 6.4 seconds, with top speeds of 246 km/h (153 mph) and 250 km/h (155 mph). Power is being sent to the wheels through a six-speed dual clutch automatic transmission. The Golf 7 GTI is riding on the MQB platform and it was officially presented to the public, in its final production form, during the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, in a world premiere.
