Volkswagen has recently launched the brand new Golf 7 generation in Malaysia, where the popular C-segment hatchback can now be bought from RM157,888, without insurance.
The new generation of the Volkswagen Golf 7 can be yours if you live in Malaysia from RM157,888, without insurance, and for the money you will get the entry-level 1.4 TSI version. What is mostly interesting on pricing the new Golf 7 is that this costs the same as the outgoing car in the SE trim level. The 1.4 liter TSI is the only engine available on the Golf 7 for the moment in Malaysia, along with a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission.
The unit is producing a total output of 140 PS, available between 4,500 rpm and 6,000 rpm, and it has a peak torque of 250 Nm, from 1,500 rpm to 3,500 rpm. The Golf 7 equipped with this engine can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.4 seconds and its top speed now stands at 212 km/h. This means that the Golf 7 in this variant is 20 PS 10 Nm less powerful than the Golf 6 SE, and it’s acceleration is 0.4 slower while the top speed has dropped by 8 km/h. What do you get for the same price, you’re probably asking. Well, the best reason for buying the new Golf instead of the old one is the MQB architecture used on its development. The Golf 7 will go on sale on the 16th of March in Malaysia.
