A series of updates for the Golf Cabriolet have been announced recently by the German based automaker.
The Volkswagen Golf Cabriolet has been updated by the German based automaker. The model in question has gained a new Euro 6 engine lineup which includes the 1.2 liter four-cylinder turbocharged, rated at 105 HP (77 kW) & 175 Nm (129 lb-ft) of torque, along with the 1.4 liter four-cylinder turbocharged producing 125 HP (92 kW) and 200 Nm (147 lb-ft) of torque and the 1.4 liter turbocharged generating 150 HP (110 kW).
“A new engine generation makes the Golf Cabriolet now available for more driving pleasure. At the same time the consumption of four TSI and two TDI engines have been reduced by up to 15 percent”, says the carmaker in its official press release.
Besides the aforementioned units, Volkswagen has also updated the 2.0 liter TDI diesel engines, which are now offered with 110 HP (81 kW) & 250 Nm (184 lb-ft) of torque, along with the 150 HP (110 kW) & 340 Nm (250 lb-ft) of torque. The latter is allowing the model to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) in 9.2 seconds and to burn an average of 4.6 liters of fuel every 100 km. The range topping Volkswagen Golf Cabriolet GTI has 10 HP (7 kW) more than the previous model, rated at 220 HP (162 kW). From 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph), this needs 6.9 seconds and fuel consumption has been reduced too, to 6.5 L / 100 km.
