The aftermarket specialists at BBM Motorsport have recently pulled the wraps off their latest creation, an upgraded Volkswagen Golf GTI.
Even if the current generation of the Volkswagen Golf will soon be replaced by the new one, that doesn’t mean that the GTI isn’t a hot hatch and in order to make it even hotter, the guys at BBM Motorsport have made a few improvements here and there. BBM Motorsport says that the sixth generation of the Volkswagen Golf in the GTI version is coming with some design details which will set it apart from its brothers and the hot hatch has also received a power boost.
The Volkswagen Golf GTI MK6 is still powered by the same 2.0 liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine but thanks to a custom exhaust system and a remapped ECU, the unit is now developing a total output of 271 HP and 280 lb-ft of torque (380 Nm), 63 HP and 74 lb-ft (100 Nm) more than the standard version. A better braking system has been installed in order to “take on” the extra power, with four-piston calipers, along with a beefed up suspension signed by KW. The model is now riding on a fresh set of 20-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 235/30 tires. BBM Motorsport didn’t say anything on the price of these upgrades for the moment.
