The German based automaker Volkswagen has recently announced that the Golf GTI Cabrio has been launched in the United Kingdom, where the drop top version of the hot hatch can be bought starting from 29, 310 GBP.
Even if the new generation of the Volkswagen Golf is already under the development and its platform, the MQB, which is also found on the 2013 Audi A3, is ready too, the car manufacturer is trying to place the seventh generation of the Golf into the spotlights, probably one last time. The all-new VW Golf GTI Cabrio is trying to combine the driving pleasure of the hot hatch with the feel of a “roadster”, and if you can’t afford a real drop-top, than the German vehicle is probably a good choice when it comes to money: 29,310 GBP for the manual and 30,610 GBP for the DSG.
According to the car manufacturer, the Volkswagen Golf GTI Cabrio is powered by the company’s 2.0 liter turbocharged engine, which is developing a total output of 210 horsepower. The unit is allowing the Golf GTI Cabrio to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h (in just 7.3 seconds, (0.4 sec slower than the hatchback) before reaching a top speed of 147 mph (235 km/h).
