A new report is indicating that the impressive VW Golf R 400 Concept will be gaining a production version after all.
Do you remember the Volkswagen Golf R 400 Concept? Well, if not, don’t worry, because you will soon learn more about it as the company is planning to give it the green light for production. The announcement hasn’t been made official just yet and this is not the first time when we hear that it will be hitting the production line. According to a recent report published by the German automotive media, the impressive ride will be hitting the dealerships in the nearby future.
The model in question will be aimed towards models such as the upcoming Ford Focus RS or the Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG, in terms of performance. The concept car was packing a four-cylinder 2.0 liter turbocharged unit under its hood, rated at 400 HP (294 kW) and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of torque, which helped it accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in a supercar time of 3.9 seconds. Top speed stood at 280 km/h (174 mph). More details on the production version are limited for the moment and will be announced by the company once the model will be ready.
