The sixth generation of the Volkswagen Golf, in the R Cabrio powerful version, has been recently rendered.
After the Volkswagen Golf GTI Cabrio has made quite a fuzz in small circles and with the model already available to order in several markets, the German based automaker thought that it would be a good idea to work on the Golf R Cabrio version, especially when the new generation of the hatchback is getting ready to hit the market pretty soon. But the images posted below this article haven’t been provided by Volkswagen and for them we must thank the guys at chinacartimes.com. The Golf R Cabrio is expected to pack 270 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque, but this is just about all we have on the model for the moment.
As a quick reminder, the Volkswagen Golf GTI Cabrio is powered by the same engine as the regular GTI, the 2.0 liter four-cylinder turbo unit, with direct injection. The engine is developing a total output of 210 HP between 5,300 and 6,200 rpm and it has a peak torque of 280 Nm, available between 1,700 and 5,200 rpm. The model can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.3 seconds, before reaching a top speed of 237 km/h, with the DSG transmission. The Golf GTI Cabrio is burning 7.6 liters of fuel every 100 km in an average cycle and CO2 emissions stop at 177 g/km.
