The new generation of the Volkswagen Golf R has been recently spied on the famous German track, the Nurburgring, where it was being tested.
After the first rumors with the new generation of the Volkswagen Golf R appeared just a few days ago, time has come to see the model on the track. The images posted below are showing the most powerful version of the new Golf generation in action, while being tested on the Ring. The model has quad pipes, unlike the previous version which came with a center mounted dual exhaust system, and an overall aggressive design, which can’t be seen because of the camouflage.
The most important part of the 2015 Volkswagen Golf R is found under its hood, where the 2.0 liter turbocharged engine will produce more than 300 BHP (224 kW). Power will be sent to the all-wheel drive system. The new generation of the Golf R is 100 kg heavier than the new GTI, while the previous one was 150 kg heavier than the Golf 6 GTI. This will be “transformed” into better handling and more power. The new generation of the Volkswagen Golf R is expected to be unveiled during the Frankfurt Motor Show, in September, but it might go on sale in early 2014.
