Volkswagen has announced the launch of the new Golf R Variant on its local market, where the model in question can be yours from 42,925 EUR.
If you have seen it during the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show and felt like you had to have it, than we have some good news for you, because the new Volkswagen Golf R Variant has recently went on sale in Germany. The model in question starts from 42,925 EUR and which is a significant price considering the fact that we are talking about a C-segment vehicle, but don’t forget that this is a performance one, which is using a 2.0 liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine, under its hood, rated at 300 HP (221 kW) and 380 Nm (280 lb-ft) of torque, connected to a 6-speed dual clutch transmission and the 4MOTION all-wheel drive system.
The new Volkswagen Golf R Variant can reach 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 5.1 seconds and it has an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph). The average fuel consumption of the car stands at 7L / 100km (40.3 mpg UK / 33.6 mpg US) and the CO2 emissions stand at 163 g/km. Standard items found on it include the blue ambient lighting, sport seats, automatic climate control, touch screen display, bi-xenon headlights and several other tweaks. The new Golf R Variant is riding 20mm closer to the ground than the standard version and it deliveries across the Old Continent will begin this spring.
