Volkswagen Golf Sportwagen announced for the U.S. image

Volkswagen has recently announced its plans to introduce the brand new Golf Sportwagen to the United States in early 2015.

The brand new Volkswagen Golf Sportwagen will become available for order in the United States too, as the company has recently announced. The model in question will be virtually identical to the European version and it stands at just 1.1 inches longer than the Jetta Sportwagen and 0.7 inches wider. The company says that it will become available with features such as the Park Distance Control, the Climatronic automatic climate control, the Bi-Xenon headlights or the 18-inch alloy wheels, amongst others.

The Volkswagen Golf Sportwagen, or the Golf Variant as it is also being known, will be hitting the over-seas auto market with two different engines, a 1.8 liter four-cylinder petrol burner, with 170 HP (126 kW) and 270 Nm (200 lb-ft) of torque, along with a 2.0 liter four-cylinder turbo diesel, rated at 150 HP (111 kW) and 319 Nm (236 lb-ft) of torque. The first one can be connected to a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission while the other one can get a 6-speed manual or a DSG. Prices for the new Golf Sportwagen will be announced close to its launch.
