Volkswagen marks the summer’s start with five customized vehicles image

Volkswagen of America has decided to celebrate summer in style, releasing five tuned cars – three Golfs, a Passat and a Jetta GLI.

The five vehicles will be used as part of the so called “enthusiast show fleet” and the automaker will be showcasing the models at numerous events throughout the summer – the first one they will be revealing their credentials being the European Experience in Savannah, Georgia. First on the list is a tuned Golf with yellow-tinted headlights, black side stripes, and 19-inch BBS Super RS wheels with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires. Also on point are H&R Street Performance coilovers, which make the car stand closer to the ground by two inches. There’s also a Golf GTI show car that brings an eye-soaring purple (not that the yellow Golf was inconspicuous either) and gold touches, along with 20-inch Vossen forged alloy wheels. The H&R Street Performance coilovers are also here and the practical side is assisted via the matching cargo box. Last, but certainly not least among the Golfs, there’s an R concept inspired by the Scirocco GT Black Edition – it packs a matte black roof, sport springs, and 19-inch alloy wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires.

Meanwhile the Jetta GLI has a split personality case, with street or race specifications. The race mod has H&R Street Performance coilovers and 18-inch Neuspeed RSe52 wheels with BFGoodrich g-Force Rival tires. The big daddy is the Passat, with its Satin Ocean Shimmer wrap and 20-inch Vossen LC-106T forged alloy wheels. There’s also a customized AccuAir E-Level air suspension and a bespoke luggage compartment with wood flooring.
