The German based automaker Volkswagen might enter the prestigious Formula 1 competition in 2015 where it’s expected to team up with Sauber and even to Porsche for longer term.
The car manufacturer is currently trying to keep a possible Formula 1 entering a secret for the moment or, who knows, maybe it’s a marketing strategy, but according to the guys at the German Car Blog, the carmaker will enter the prestigious competition in 2015. If you’re name is Volkswagen than you obviously don’t have any money problems because, as we all know, the company is currently number one at selling cars worldwide throughout its brands so the necessary cash for a possible Formula 1 entering can be found easily.
According to the source mentioned above, Volkswagen is currently looking up to partner with Sauber for a possible Formula 1 entering for short term but for a longer term, the company is planning to get its chassis designed by Porsche at the Porsche Motorsport Centre in Weissach, Germany, where the brand is also working on the Le Mans entrant. Porsche is currently focused on Le Mans and doesn’t see itself in Formula 1 for the moment but the 2015 season might pull an even bigger surprise.
