The first images with the production version of the Volkswagen New Midsize Coupe (NMC) Concept have recently hit the web, offering us a preview of the upcoming model.
Originally unveiled during the 2014 Beijing Motor Show, the Volkswagen NMC Concept is ending up in our news once again, this time with the help of a few images, which are said to show it in its final production form. The model in question has been captured by spy photographers in production guise and it’s said to go on sale before the end of this year, as it will be assembled by the Shanghai-Volkswagen joint venture.
The design features of the new Volkswagen Midsize Coupe Concept will be carried over from the one-off concept car but these will be toned down a bit. One of the main competitors of the NMC is said to be the Mercedes-Benz CLA. The concept version came with a 2.0 liter TSI four-cylinder engine under its hood, rated at 220 HP (162 kW). The 0 to 100 km/h acceleration was made in 6.5 seconds and top speed stood at 244 km/h (151 mph). The NMC is wider than a Passat and lower than a Jetta and it has the familiar Volkswagen front fascia.
