Volkswagen has released a fresh photo gallery with the new Passat Alltrack.
Originally unveiled earlier this year and with its order books opened this summer, the Volkswagen Passat Alltrack is being placed into the spotlights once again, this time with the carmaker releasing a new photo gallery with it. The model in question is riding on a modified chassis, it has a 174 mm ground clearance and permanent all-wheel drive, abilities which can get you out of some “muddy” situations, but still comfortable enough for long-distance cruising.
Volkswagen says that in normal driving conditions, the 4Motion AWD system is sending power to the FWD only, improving the fuel consumption, but when the traction is about to be lost, the rear axle is engaged. The vehicle has the EDS (electronic differential locks) integrated in the ESC (electronic stability control system) and it has a driving mode selection as well, with the Eco, Comfort, Normal, Sport and Individual. The Off-Road mode is also available exclusively on the Alltrack.
The starting price of the new Volkswagen Passat Alltrack has been set at 38,550 euros and the rugged exterior design, with the plastic body cladding, the skid plates, the different front and rear bumpers, the underbody plates, 17-inch alloy wheels and so on are coming with it. The engine lineup includes the 1.4 liter TSI with 150 HP, along with the 2.0 liter TSI, rated at 220 HP. The 2.0 liter TDI is available too, in three outputs, with 150 HP, 190 HP and 240 HP. AWD is standard.
