The 2016 Volkswagen Passat Alltrack has been officially unveiled and it will be making its public debut in a couple of weeks during the 2015 Geneva Motor Show.
The newest version of the Volkswagen Passat is the Alltrack which has been based on the Variant and it is basically a more rugged model, coming with an increased ride height by 27.5 mm, with plastic body cladding on the wheel arches, with sill trims, with a different design for the front and rear bumpers, with stainless steel underbody plates to protect its vulnerable components and several other tweaks.
The new Volkswagen Passat Alltrack is coming with the 4MOTION on-demand all-wheel drive system as standard and it has also received the standard differential lock, which is transferring the power to the wheel with the most traction, assuring a proper off-road experience despite not being in SUV. The so-called “Off Road” driving mode has been also added to the model.
As you probably already expected, the brand new Volkswagen Passat Alltrack will be taking its power from the 1.4 liter TSI and 2.0 liter TSI petrol burners, rated at 150 HP and 220 HP respectively, while diesel lovers will be able to order the 2.0 liter TDIs with 150 HP, with 190 HP and with 240 HP. We are not sure what the vehicle will cost or what its performance details are but info like this will probably be announced on the 3rd of March, during the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, when it will be making its public debut.
