Volkswagen has opened the order books for its Passat Alltrack on the Old Continent.

Originally unveiled during the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, back in March, in a premiere, the new Volkswagen Passat is now becoming available to its future customers as the carmaker has opened the order books. According to the company, the model in question has been priced from 38,550 euros and for the money buyers will get the rugged exterior design with the plastic body cladding, the additional ground clearance (27.5 mm), the silver accents, the skid plates, different front and rear bumpers, underbody plates and the unique 17-inch alloy wheels, amongst others.

The interior design of the car is being carried over mostly but it is also getting some interesting options which include the rear-seat entertainment system, the GPS navigation system, the head-up display and the digital instrument cluster. As far as the engine lineup goes, the vehicle is getting the 1.4 liter TSI with its 150 HP, along with a larger petrol burner, the 2.0 liter TSI, producing 220 HP. Diesel lovers will be able to choose the 2.0 liter TDI which will come in three outputs, with 150 HP, with 190 HP and with 240 HP. The 4MOTION all-wheel drive system is being offered as standard and it diverts power to the front wheels normally, depending on the situation, while the Haldex coupling can also send power to the rear axle. There is also a standard differential lock which is assisting the power transmission.
