Volkswagen has announced its plans to introduce an Alltrack version of the new generation Passat, which will go on sale in mid-2015.
The new generation of the Volkswagen Passat will be gaining an Alltrack version. The announcement has been made recently by the German based automaker and the model in question will be introduced sometimes next year. The Volkswagen Passat Alltrack will be joining the estate and sedan lineup and it will be based on the station wagon version of the series, standing above the recently unveiled Golf Alltrack in both size and price categories.
The upcoming Volkswagen Passat Alltrack will be coming with the usual body modifications and with a raised suspension which is said to be around 20 to 30 mm, for greater road clearance. The vehicle will be also getting the 4Motion all-wheel drive system, along with an electronic front differential lock. As far as the engine lineup goes, this will include the same petrol and diesel units found on the regular Passat models. The model will be introduced, in its production form, at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, in March, and it will go on sale in the summer of the same year. More details on it remain unknown for the moment.
