The German based automaker Volkswagen has recently announced that the new Passat model has set new record sales in the United States.
According to the car manufacturer, a total of 77,523 units of the Volkswagen Passat have been sold in the United States back in 2001 and that was the best year of the model over-seas, but the previous record has been recently crushed by the Passat, which has managed to find 77,524 new owners in the United States. 2012 has become the best year of VW Passat sales in the United States ever and the year isn’t even over yet.
Volkswagen says that only in August the Passat has managed to find 10,900 new owners in the United States and, according to the company, around 20 percent of all the Passat units, which have been sold over-seas, are coming with TDI Clean Diesel powertrains.
“This best-year milestone comes on the heels of the best August sales month for Passat to date, with 10,900 units sold. Approximately 20 percent of all Passats sold in the United States are equipped with the TDI Clean Diesel powertrain, which is unique in the midsize segment – further highlighting continued demand for Volkswagen’s class-leading diesel technology”, as Volkswagen has recently said in a statement.
