Volkswagen Polo 1.2 TSI to be launched in India

The German based automaker Volkswagen is planning to launch the Polo 1.2 turbo in India where the model is expected to become more popular than the outgoing version.

While the Volkswagen Polo 1.6 didn’t go as planned in India when the model was launched, the car manufacturer has another ace up its sleeve, which is the Polo 1.2 liter turbo, which is expected to be launched in the Asian country soon. The German based automaker is hoping that by combining the popularity of the Polo in Europe with the smaller but more powerful 1.2 liter turbocharged engine, will make the model more attractive to future Indian customers.

The Volkswagen Polo 1.2 liter TSI turbo petrol engine is producing a total output of 105 BHP, as musch as the current output squeezed out of the current 1.6 liter version. This has been achieved thanks to direct injection and turbocharging. The unit will be mated to a seven-speed DSG transmission (DCQ200) which will help the small hatchback’s fuel economy and take care of its CO2 emissions. Additional details on the Volkswagen Polo 1.2 TSI aimed towards India are limited for the moment and will be announced close to its launch.
