Volkswagen Polo BlueMotion travels 1,563 km with one tank of fuel

The German based automaker Volkswagen has recently announced that the Polo BlueMotion managed to travel 1,563 km on a single tank of fuel.

According to the car manufacturer, the small hatchback has recorded an average fuel consumption of just 2.9 liters burned every 100 km, which allowed the model to travel for 1,563 km between fill ups. The fuel consumption test has been conducted by the instructors at Volkswagen Driving Experience under the Dekra supervision and it started in Wolfsburg from the famous Autostadt, going through Leipzig, Monaco, Munchen, Stuttgart, Frankfurt, Kassel and it ended back in Wolfsburg.

Volkswagen says that despite the Polo BlueMotion having an average fuel consumption of 3.3 liters every 100 km, the model has achieved an amazing 2.9 liters / 100km on this journey and what is mostly interesting is that the vehicle has traveled in cities and on highways too, where the average speed is 84 km/h. The Volkswagen Polo BlueMotion was accompanied by a VW Passat BlueMotion in which three instructors have sat who didn’t have anything to do with the smaller vehicle. On the same path, the Volkswagen Passat BlueMotion has achieved an average fuel consumption of just 4.2 liters / 100km.
