Volkswagen Polo GTI by ABT image

The aftermarket specialists from ABT Sportsline are revealing yet another upgraded vehicle, this Volkswagen Polo GTI.

The tuner has created a special version of the Volkswagen Polo GTI in order to mark the supermini’s 40th anniversary. The model in question is bringing some exterior tweaks, such as the two-tone carbon look sticker, the rear skirt, the roof mounted spoiler, the muffler set with two end pipers and a custom suspension system, which is lowering the ride height by 25 mm on the front and 30 mm at the rear. Add the 18-inch wheels, wrapped in 215/35 tires, to the car and you have completed its looks.

If you think that changes stop here you will be surprised because ABT is also offering some tweaks to the cabin as well. Here we can find the bespoke floor mats and the ABT logo on the LED door entrance lights as well. The mist important part of the pocket rocket is under its hood, where the 1.8 liter TSI engine has received a power boost and it is now capable of putting down a total of 230 HP (169 kW) and a peak torque of 360 Nm (266 lb-ft). The standard engine is rated at 192 HP and 320 Nm of torque and it is allowing the Polo GTI to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 6.7 seconds and to go up to a top speed of 236 km/h (148 mph). No details on the performance of the upgraded Polo GTI have been announced so far.
