Volkswagen Polo R WRC Street Concept with 220 HP revealed in Worthersee image

Volkswagen has recently pulled the wraps off its latest creation, the Polo R WRC Street Concept, at the 2012 Worthersee in Austria, which is packing more power than the Golf GTI.

The German based automaker Volkswagen is actually showing the future of the Polo GTI with the Polo R WRC Street Concept, because the model is actually more powerful than the Golf GTI, with an impressive 220 horsepower. According to the car manufacturer, the Volkswagen Polo R WRC Street Concept is adopting some features from the upcoming WRC model, which will be used by the company at the 2013 World Rally Championship, but the vehicle is actually road legal and it has a big chance of becoming the next Polo R.

Volkswagen says that the Polo R WRC Street Concept is powered by the company’s 2.0 liter TSI engine, which is developing a total output of 220 horsepower and if the ratio will be maintained throughout the production version, than the Polo R will develop 40 HP more than the Polo GTI, and even 9 HP more than the Golf GTI. The Polo R WRC Street Concept has also been fitted with a small spoiler, multi-spoke alloy wheels which are covering the blue brake calipers and a sports suspension, along with the leather/Alcantara seats, sports steering wheel with paddle shifters and contrast blue stitching.
