Volkswagen Santana arrives in China image

Volkswagen has recently announced the arrival of the Santana in China, where the model will be introduced this month.

After it was spied a few times in the Asian country, the Volkswagen Santana is now getting ready to be launched there. The German based automaker says that the Volkswagen Santana is the Vento’s Chinese cousin and the model has been based on the PQ25 architecture. The Santana is replacing the old Santana 3000 Vista and the Jetta MK2 models, which have been around for decades. According to the car manufacturer, the new Volkswagen Santana is 4.47 meters long, 1.70 meters wide and 1.40 meters tall, riding on a wheelbase of 2.60 meters.

The new Volkswagen Santana will be available at the time of its launch with a choice of two petrol engines, a 1.4 liter four-cylinder producing 90 HP and a larger 1.6 liter petrol four-cylinder unit developing a total output of 110 HP. The two engines will be available with either a five-speed manual transmission or with a six-speed automatic. The new Santana is coming with features like the ABS, ESP, front, side and curtain airbags, leather upholstery, parking sensors, automatic air conditioning, electric sliding sunroof, alloy wheels and more. Prices for the model will start at 84,900 yuan.
