A Volkswagen representative has recently confirmed for us the introduction of the facelifted Volkswagen Scirocco in 2014.
After initial rumors were announcing the debut of a facelifted version of the Volkswagen Scirocco sometimes next year, a representative of the German carmaker has confirmed the model for a 2014 unveil.
“The rumors are always very interesting. 2014 could have a new Scirocco version. When and where we’ll communicate later.” When asked about the new generation of the model making its way onto the market in 2017, the answer was: “Reports on a completely new model in 2017/18 are just guesses, I can’t comment on that”, so our guess is that the model in question might be introduced sometimes earlier than reports are saying.
The facelifted version of the Volkswagen Scirocco will get a new front fascia and a new rear end, which should keep it close to the design of new cars in the company’s lineup. Modifications will be made to the grille, the headlights, which will receive daytime running lights too, to the taillights and probably to the front and rear bumper. The cabin of the model is also expected to receive some minor modifications, while the engine lineup will be kept the same. More details on the subject will be announced next year, close to the model’s debut, which will probably be in March, during the Geneva Motor Show, or in September, during the Paris Motor Show.
