Volkswagen has released some new details on the facelifted version of the Scirocco, which has been officially unveiled earlier this year.
After pulling the wraps off the 2015 Scirocco earlier this year, during the Geneva Motor Show, the model in question is being details once more. Volkswagen says that the updated Scirocco has new headlights, new LED taillights, some updated bumpers, new auxiliary instruments in the cabin, the Blind Spot Monitor system, the ParkAssist option, the Dynaudio Excite sound system and some other tweaks which should easily differentiate this model compared to the previous one.
As far as the engine lineup goes, the 2.0 liter TSIs have been updated and they are now producing 20 HP more to 180 HP (132 kW), 10 HP more (220 HP) and 15 HP more (280 HP), as the latter can be found on the top of the line Scirocco R. The 0 to 100 km/h sprint takes just 5.5 seconds in this version, when being equipped with the DSG optional transmission. The 2.0 liter TDIs have been also updated with 10 HP (150 HP) and with 7 HP (184 HP). The 0 to 100 km/h acceleration is made in 7.5 seconds in the more powerful diesel option. The updated Scirocco will arrive at the European dealerships in August, this year.
