Volkswagen Scirocco facelift officially unveiled image

The 2015 Volkswagen Scirocco facelift has been officially unveiled ahead of its public debut which has been scheduled for next month, during the 2014 Geneva Motor Show.

After a six-year old production of the current generation, the German based automaker thinks that a facelift is exactly what the Scirocco needs, and this should keep everyone happy until the company will be working on a new generation of the model, which should probably hit the market in 2 or 3 years. The model in question has received a modified front bumper, bi-xenon headlights, LED daytime running lights, a new front grille, a different rear bumper, a boot lid, LED taillights and some other tweaks.

Five new exterior colors will become available for the updated Scirocco, and these include the Ultra Violet, the Pure White, the Flash Red, the Pyramid Gold and the Urano Grey. The cabin of the model has received upgraded materials, a set of gauges for the turbocharger pressure, oil temperature and chronometer, a flat-bottomed steering wheel, which was wrapped in leather, new gauges, new air vents, a ParkAssist system, a Dynaudio Excite audio system, a covered storage compartment near the handbrake lever and more.

The cheapest 1.4 liter TSI is now producing an extra 3 HP (2 kW), to a total of 125 HP (92 kW), while the three versions of the 2.0 TSI is producing 180 HP, 20 HP more, 220 HP, 10 HP more and 280 HP, 15 HP more. The 2.0 TDI has been also upgraded and it’s producing an extra 10 HP with 150 HP and 7 HP with 184 HP. The facelifted 2015 Volkswagen Scirocco will go on sale in August, on the Old Continent, and shortly after it will arrive in markets like Russia, South Korea, China, Argentina and Australia.
