The German based automaker Volkswagen has recently announced that the Scirocco GTS will be officially presented to the public at the 2012 Leipzig Motor Show.
After almost three decades, the Volkswagen Scirocco GTS is getting ready to hit the market once again, this time in the new generation of the vehicle. The Volkswagen Scirocco GTS is coming with chrome elements fitted onto its body, a set of black and dark red stripes, which is reminding us of the old generation, and a fresh set of 18-inch alloy wheels, covering the red painted brake calipers. The model will also get new side sills and a rear diffuser, highlighting the vehicle’s “pedigree”.
The interior design of the Volkswagen Scirocco GTS hasn’t been left aside either by the company’s designers and this is now coming with an interesting contrast between black and red. The cabin has also been fitted with stainless steel pedals, leather wrapped steering wheel, gearshift lever and handbrake lever, along with the red stitching on the carpets.
Under the hood, the Volkswagen Scirocco GTS will get the well-known 2.0 liter TSI engine, with direct injection, which is developing a total output of 210 horsepower and it has a peak torque of 280 Nm, just like the regular version. The performance specs haven’t been announced yet but the GTS should act like the standard Scirocco with the 2.0 TSI engine, which means 6.9 seconds for the 0 to 100 km/h acceleration, a 238 km/h top speed and 7.5 liters of fuel burned every 100 km.
