Volkswagen will be introducing the Scirocco GTS at the 2015 Shanghai Auto Show, in just a few days.
After showing the facelifted version of the Scirocco last year, Volkswagen is now getting ready to officially pull the wraps off the range-topping Scirocco GTS. The model will be officially presented to the public on the 20th of April, during the Shanghai Auto Show, in a premiere. The vehicle has been unveiled over the web at the moment and it is coming with new 18-inch Norwich alloy wheels, with optional 19-inch Lugano wheels, both of them with red brake calipers, the R-Line exterior package with R-styled front and rear bumpers, a roof spoiler, a rear diffuser and custom side sill extensions.
In order to remind us of the 1982 Scirocco GTS, the vehicle has received the black finished side mirror caps and a sporty GTS decal, available as an option. The color palette includes the Deep Black, Indium Grey, Urano Grey, Oryx White, Pure White and Flash red.
The cabin is bringing the GTS logo on the lower spoke of the sports steering wheel, black headliner, Composition Color infotainment system, golf ball gear knob, stainless steel pedals, the black Vienna leather upholstery for some extra cost, panoramic tilt sunroof, multi-function steering wheel and bi-xenon headlights. Power is coming from a 2.0L turbocharged gasoline burner with 220 HP (162 kW), as in the Golf 7 GTI, connected to a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed DSG transmission. From 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph), it needs 6.5s and top speed stands at 244 km/h with the DSG and 246 km/h with the manual.
