The final production version of the Volkswagen Taigun may have leaked in some patent images, which have ended up on the web.
The Volkswagen Taigun Concept is expected to receive a production version, and this one may have just leaked in some patent images, but the website where they have been posted isn’t providing any details on it. As a quick reminder, the concept car has been officially presented to the public during the Sao Paulo Motor Show, back in 2012, and the model came with a different roof, turn signals in the mirrors, new LED daytime running lights and some other tweaks.
The VW Taigun Concept is based on the same platform as the VW Up! but the model is 81 mm taller, 83 mm wider and it has a 50 mm longer wheelbase. The concept version weighs 985 kg (2,172 lbs) and it’s powered by a 1.0 liter TSI engine, which is good for 110 HP (81 kW) and 175 Nm of torque, enough for a 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) sprint of 9.2 seconds and a 186 km/h (116 mph) top speed. The model can average 4.5 L / 100 km (62.7 mpg UK / 52.2 mpg US).
